Lunar Tables
Over my many years of being on the water day after day I have never been one to pay much attention to the Lunar forecast; however, about ten years ago I meet a gentleman that fished with me many times a year. His process of picking his fishing dates began with the Lunar table projections, he would sit down with me and go through the tables and pick the projected best days of the month to fish. I must say I became intrigued with his picks and as many of you know I keep a log, so I decided to look back at the dates we fished together over the years and found some interesting patterns.

There was no doubt, looking at many years of fishing with him that there was definitely something different about the days we fished together. The pattern was pretty simple and unless we just had a big front that changed the make up of the weather like going from a low pressure to an extreme high pressure we always had great days together. In todays world the Lunar forecast and its affect on fishing can be diagnosed with a phone app that actually picks the best days and best hours of the day to fish. As we progressed fishing together my friend and business customer loaded the phone app and picking his days on the water became very easy and he followed it like clockwork; needless to say I was impressed as it most of the time lead us to some great fishing together, not only did the day work out most of the time but so did the timing as it also predicts the best time of day. You of course can load this app on your phone and be a Lunar table specialist as you pick your days to fish. There is a small cost to it, I don’t know what it’s called or how much it cost but I am sure it would be easy to find and reasonable inexpensive.
I personally still don’t have the app as I fish regardless of the Lunar projection but as a weekend fisherman, I’m sure it would serve you well. The Lunar tables can just make it a little easier to have a successful day.
