Fishing Details for my bass fishing guides service
On The Boat Guidelines
Pertinent Information I will supply Life Jackets, Duckett Rods, Lews Reels and baits, if you choose to bring your own Rod & Reels just please let me know, as I try to minimize tackle in the boat for safety reasons. I do supply spinning reels if needed. If you require this type of reel you must let me know before fishing so I have it on board. Also, in most cases there is no need to bring tackle as it's generally in the way in the boat, as I have all we need. Please bring any drinks or food you would like to have, sometimes we can stop on the water and eat, however I find most people would prefer not to. Please always bring a rain suit (tops & bottoms) the weather changes quickly on the water, and can make it uncomfortable if you get wet.
Safety Instructions Life Jackets will be worn at all times while the boat is under power, Straps are only considered life jackets when worn therefore if you bring your own straps you must wear them at all times to meet coast guard requirements- We will always be seated while under power- During rough water life jackets will be worn while fishing- Todays hooks are very sharp please always wear glasses of some type, be cautious and aware of your surroundings while fishing-
Bad weather In most cases we fish, however there is times that we will have to wait out a storm or make other arrangements, this is generally decided at the ramp at the meeting place and time we agree to meet- All clients must have a valid Alabama fishing license- We practice catch and release all fish are released back into the lake.
Meeting Place And Time Generally speaking we will meet in the mid part of the lake at one of the ramps along Hwy 79 between Guntersville and Scottsboro.
Equipment and Boat I fish out of a 2019 Ranger Z521 L dark in color with a 250 Mercury 4 stroke, Minn Kota 112 pound thrust Spot Lock trolling motor, 2 Lowrance carbon HDS 12 Touch at the cockpit, and Lowrance carbon HDS 12 Touch display on the bow, 3D Structure Scan and Power Poles. I am a member of the Ranger Boats Pro Staff team and fish out of a Team boat.
My Guides Equipment My guides are all rigged differently my sponsors are not necessarily their sponsors, their boats are not necessarily the same as my boat, their all sub-contractors and have their own sponsors deals.
Personal Invitation Your invited husband & wife or significant other, father and son or daughter, or just you and I will treat you very well and with the upmost respect.
Smoking I will no longer agree to smoking while on my boat. I can however and will be glad to let you get out at a ramp or dock and smoke, and then get back to fishing!
Fishing License is required for all those 16 years of age and older residents of Alabama over the age of 65 do not need a license!
Fishing in Customer Boat We have no issue with fishing in your boat there are however a few things to consider the guides boat is like his office, all our equipment is in our boats and reduces our ability to help you catch fish if we fish in your boat we cannot bring but a few rods and reels. If you want us to fish in your boat (customer boat) we will "not change our rates, we will not reduce our rates, we will not lower our rates ." Your boat needs to have basic bass fishing equipment, trolling motor, basic electronics and in reasonable running order to even consider going in your boat.
Mike I want to thank you again for the trip on Guntersville. You did a great job of finding some biting fish on a tough day. I have fished with many guides during my travels, and I will rate you right at the top of the list. One thing that really stood out was the quality and quantity of the fishing supplies on you boat. I am really looking forward to our fall trip, I want to thank you again for the trip on Guntersville.
Mike More than catching fish or learning locations, I enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the seasonal patterns on Guntersville. The patterns shifted as the week progressed. I can say the knowledge you gave us of what the fish would be doing allowed us to modify our strategy and come out winning. Two days 58 pounds, not great judging from results of local tounaments but being relatively new to the lake, we were very proud. Mike again thanks for the great trip, I hope to do it again.
Just wanted to drop a note to thank you and all of your help for the past 2 days. Everyone had a great time and those that didn’t go are, of course, now wanting to. I’m pretty sure we I will be in touch with you very soon about booking a trip at the end of March or beginning of April. I already have people wanting to be there.
We appreciate your patience, and all the other things involved with the trip. I can guarantee it will happen again. And as far as I’m concerned, the sooner the better.
If you need any references or need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know.
